What's Happening in and Around Your Club

Following the recent committee meeting it was felt we should be more communicative about how the club is getting on and future pans. To that end here is an update.
Senior Teams
The first team's goal of winning the league remains on track with every game being a crucial one. They are currently second only to Tilford. The second team have only lost 2 games so far but the struggle for promotion remains difficult as the league lets new teams in. Sunday games continue to allow us to provide cricket for all with 12 games arranged this season. The 21st July we are holding an inter club match as a great opportunity to get players together from all teams.
Junior Cricket
All age groups have been very active with many teams having considerable success against what have been traditionally much larger and stronger clubs. Numbers are very good and we know that we will continue to grow the youth side. Next season we will look to create a midweek U!7 side that will also help transition to senior cricket. The club is very keen to expand women and girls cricket at Elstead and are trying to organise a 'come and try' event shortly with the help of Surrey Cricket Foundation - watch this space for details.
Facilities
The committee has two main aims with regard to the clubs facilities; improvements to the net surfaces and the installation of an all weather pitch at Burford Lodge recreation ground. The continued expansion of the youth teams means we have insufficient space and pitches at our ground and have had to use Thursley CC to accommodate some matches. Both of these schemes will require significant investment, some of which we hope to raise from SCF but much will have to be raised ourselves. Following some great work by the committee gaining new sponsors, the club is a good position financially and we welcome your continued support. Other purchases, such as a new bowling machine and more junior practice nets, are under consideration.
Safeguarding
We are happy to report no issues but remain vigilant and please raise any concerns with Camilla, our safeguarding officer,

That's all for now but we promise to keep everyone informed and please let us know of any issues, ideas, comments to help make your club work for you.

Chairman
