Catch of the season not enough

After winning the toss, Fleet took to the field in the sun. Lennon (6) and Nate (5) opened the batting for Elstead and progressed the score board slowly but steadily. Archie (18) and Ben (8) found the boundary with ease as they pushed the score during their 4 overs. Archie particularly made good contact with the ball smashing 4 boundaries. Jake (5) and Jude (5) tried to keep the tempo up but some good bowling slowed the pace. Rufus (11) and Henry (2) combined with one defending while the other chased the runs. Lastly, Jack (20) and Nathan (13) did their best to push the score as high as possible but unfortunately the number of wickets over the evening contributed to a modest 263 net score.
It was a brilliant start to the Fleet innings for Elstead as Jack took the catch of the season at backward of square, diving to his left, on the last ball of the first over bowled by Jake (2/15 in his 3 overs). Rufus (0/20 in 3 overs) was the quickest of the night, bowling outside off and if we can get that on off, the wickets will tumble. Nathan (1/3 in his 3 overs) was very economical tonight and unlucky not to have a few more wickets due to LBWs not being given. The wicket he did get was through a good catch by Jude at mid-on. Jack (0/10) brought the excitement from his catch into his bowling. Jude (0/11) had a couple of pearlers and Lennon (1/13) has really improved his line and length, resulting in his wicket. Archie (0/16) and Ben (0/11) both had very good first overs but found it difficult from the other end. Lastly Henry (0/8), after shortening his run up, bowled some decent balls and showed improvement.
Overall, there was some good work in the field but some over excitement resulted in too many extras from the loose deliveries and a few overthrows. At the end of the night these extras (68) and the number of wickets lost, gave Fleet the win.
